Everyone's Gay in Amsterdam

On Tuesday, September 29 Here Media [Planet Out's parent company] held the first of four Amsterdam events with a luxe party at the Bogardus Mansion in New York City’s exclusive Tribeca neighborhood. The “Everyone’s Gay in Amsterdam” photo booth was the smash hit of the evening, which also celebrated The Advocate’s October issue featuring Bravo’s Andy Cohen with Real Housewives Bethenny Frankel of New York, Dina Manzo of New Jersey and NeNe Leakes of Atlanta. Andy, Bethenny and Dina attended the event, along with fellow Housewife Lisa Hartwell of Atlanta, Kelly Ripa’s hubby Marc Consuelos, Tate Donovan of Damages, Broadway star John Benjamin Hickey, Tabitha Coffey of Bravo and fashion designer John Bartlett.

Pride Hits Sin City

Vegas Pride Parade 1 SMALL The community was out and wild as ever as Las Vegas celebrated its annual Pride Festival. The festivities kicked off on Friday night with the annual Parade, which in the city that never sleeps took place in the evening and traveled down Las Vegas Blvd. 

Dante’s Cove star Reichen Lehmkuhl teamed up with local news anchor Chris Saldana to host the parade, which featured great local organizations out showing their members on floats with bands marching and music pumping. Mr. Las Vegas Pride was one of several guests to make their way over to the broadcast booth to talk with the boys as the emceed the event. For those not lucky enough to be out on the streets, local Cox Communications affiliate and Vegas Pride sponsor Cox 96 aired the Parade that night, with several rebroadcasts post-Parade.

Green Travel Advice

Train A scientists' group has put together a guide to green travel to help you determine which modes of transportation have the smallest carbon footprint, and the group, the Union of Concerned Scientists, says some of the greenest choices can also save money.

UCS researchers compared the amount of carbon dioxide — the chief heat-trapping gas that drives global warming — from driving, flying, traveling by train or bus, and also compared per-person emissions for solo travelers versus those traveling in pairs or as a family of four.
