Do you have a great memory of a date that relates to you car?

I once picked up a guy for our very first, face to face, dinner date on a warm summer evening in a black 1980 Corvette L-82 four-speed.  Upon opening the driver's side door he leaned in and said, "What am I getting myself into here?  You obey the speed limit right?"  Once he buckled up, I gunned the motor several times to the roar of the exhaust, turned to him, cracked a 3 mile smile behind a pair of dark Ray bans and simply said "Relax honey...let me do the driving", dropped the clutch at 2,100 r.p.m. and smoked the tires.  He called the next morning explaining what a great time he had and wondered if I was available the following evening.

My husband and I went to a cute little Indonesian restaurant in the East Village for our first date. It's gone now, but we're married! We still joke about the fact that, since we had only met each other walking down Park Avenue the day before, on our way to the restaurant, I was deliberately trailing just a few steps behind him so I could check out his butt.

What are some of the things you love most about your city/town?

I love the mix of races, cultures and such. It's the variety of people living right next to each other that makes New York magic-and damn sexy! When you're a whiter than white boy from Ohio, the different races here get your blood flowing. I also love that I can talk to myself walking down the street and no one thinks I'm any crazier than the next guy.

If you had gay friends visiting from out of town for the first time, what are some "musts" that you'd recommend they see or do?

A walk down by the piers on the Westside Highway and through the West Village is a must. I'd tell them to take in a Broadway show or two. Depending on when they were visiting, I'd see what dance events were happening that would be fun to attend. I'd recommend a walk through Central Park.
