Put your leather on and compete on stage
They're now accepting contestants for the Mr. Detroit Eagle (a leather contest). Get that leather out of the closet and come out and strut your stuff at the Detroit Eagle on Holden Sat. November 21st. Information is on the website if you want to compete but come out and show your support and admire some hot bodies in leather.
Backstreet is the destination for Tuesdays
Backstreet has a new night on Tuesday nights and it's boi lust and boy does it live up to it's name. Dancing, hot guys and guest DJ's it's the place to be on Tuesdays night. Backstreet's also having an special party on November 25th, Thanksgiving Eve (the busiest bar night of the year). Get out and have a blast.
Turkey Bowling On the site of a former bowling alley
Cafe Gigi's in Detroit (on the site of a former bowling alley) has traditionally had turkey bowling the Monday night before Thanksgiving. Turkeys or not, Gigi's it the hottest place in Detroit on Monday nights, Nickki Stevens and DJ Chicago put on a show including Nickki doing drag numbers, high energy dance music and hot gogo dancers. Monday night also features the audience singing show tunes and in general having a riot.
The DIA (Detroit Institute of the Arts) is having an exhibit of Richard Avedon's (1923-2004) fashion photographs. Avedon revolutionized editorial fashion work for magazines in the post World War II era. Tickets are $12 ($6 for kids) and the exhibit is a must for every fashionable gay man in Detroit. While your at the DIA have some elegant coffee in the Kresge Court or venture across the street and checkout the murals upstairs in the Detroit Public Library for added adventure.
