Why Won't Mary-Kate Olsen Cooperate With Investigation Into Heath Ledger's Death?

Marykateolson (Getty Images) Heath Ledger died of an accidental drug overdose in Mary-Kate Olsen's Manhattan apartment seven months ago, and she has yet to cooperate with federal drug officials investigating her friend's death.

According to the New York Post, Mary-Kate has refused to speak with agents from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration unless she is granted immunity from prosecution.

But now it looks like the star will have to speak whether she likes it or not—the New York Post and other media sources report that the feds have obtained a subpoena that will require Mary-Kate to testify before a federal grand jury.

While Mary-Kate is mum on the matter, her lawyer issued a statement, according to MSNBC.com, insisting she "had nothing whatsoever to do with the drugs found in Heath Ledger's home or his body, and she does not know where he obtained them."

Have you been following this story, and how do you feel about Mary-Kate's refusal to talk? Do you think she has something to hide?

Leave Mary Kate alone. The only person to blame for Heath's death is Heath.
