Tipper Gore spoke at a plenary session of the 17th annual PFLAG Convention as part of the Millennium March on Washington.
In her speech to over 700 PFLAG members, the Vice President's wife encouraged parents of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered people to continue their efforts to further queer civil rights.
Gore promised that, should her husband be elected, his new administration would strive to pass the Employee Non Discrimination Act (ENDA) and hate crimes legislation. "We will fight for this,"
she said to a standing ovation. The Second Lady also promised that a Gore administration would "explore how domestic partners can receive the legal and the economic benefits that other couples receive."
