THURSDAY APRIL 27th, 2000

* The United States Holocaust Museum presents "An Evening with Gad Beck," beginning at 7pm. Come hear the extraordinary story of a Gay Jew who survived Nazi Berlin. Beck escaped a deportation camp disguised as a Hitler Youth and led an underground resistance effort against the Nazis throughout World War II, all the while as an openly Gay man. FRIDAY APRIL 28th, 2000

* Millennium March on Washington Lobby Day. Lobby your Congressional representatives on issues of concern to the GLBT community, including hate crimes, immigration, employment non-discrimination, the right to marry, and reauthorization of the HIV/AIDS Ryan White Care Act. Brief "How to Lobby" trainings will take place every hour on the hour from 9am to 3pm at the Methodist Church on First and Maryland Sts., NE.

* PFLAG National Conference: "Family Voices for Equality." Crystal Gateway Marriott, 1700 Jefferson Davis Highway, Arlington, VA. Registration begins @ 9am, exhibits open from 6pm - 11pm. For more information, go to www.PFLAG.org.

* United States Holocaust Memorial Museum One-Day Symposium: "Persecution of Homosexuals Under the Nazi Regime." Hear leading scholars in the study of Nazi persecution of homosexuals discuss how and why homosexuals were persecuted, why many remained silent after the war, and what research opportunities in the field exist today. * Family Diversity Projects, Inc presents Loves Makes A Family--a display of family pride: This photo-text exhibit features portraits and stories of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered people and their families. The exhibit opens on April 16th at the Metropolitan Community Church of DC at 474 Ridge St. NW and will be on display through May 4. Throughout the MMOW weekend, the artists who created this exhibit -- photographer, Gigi Kaeser and interviewer/editor, Peggy Gillespie -- will be on hand to talk about the creation of the exhibit and the positive impact this exhibit is having on communities as it travels nationwide. The Lesbian and Gay Bands of America is hosting its national conference in DC and invites musicians of all skill levels to attend workshops and rehearsals to prepare for concert performances to be held during the MMOW weekend.
