This organization brings together musicians from bands nationwide for
inaugurations, Gay Pride marches, and other events.
The Lesbian and Gay Big Apple Corps
New York City's premiere symphonic and marching band.
Atlanta Freedom Marching Band
This group has grown from a meager five people to a 35-piece band. They
recently performed at the Olympics.
Minnesota Freedom Band
An all-inclusive concert and marching band based in the Twin Cities.
North Carolina Pride Marching Band
Originally an all-woman band with a lot of kazoos, now over 20 band
members perform at various events.
Washington D.C. Different Drummers
Founded by musician and gay press publisher Michael Rutherford, this
group performs at many government functions as well as GLBT
events.
San Francisco Lesbian/Gay Freedom Band
Entering its third decade as the world's first openly LGBT musical
organization, this band has appeared all over the
United States.
Lakeside Pride Musical Ensembles
Formed in 1997 as the Chicago Black Lesbian and Gay Marching Band, the
name was later changed to reflect the all-inclusive nature of the
group.
Melbourne Rainbow Band
Since 1995 this fledgling band has grown to world acclaim, performing in
San Francisco and other U.S. cities as well as in Australia.
Vancouver Lesbian and Gay Rainbow Band
From AIDS Walks to Christmas concerts, this diverse band keeps Canadians
happy.
Great American Yankee Freedom Band, Los Angeles, CA
Since 1978, this band has performed for over one million people in
parades and concerts and on local and national television.
San Diego's Finest City Freedom Band, San Diego, CA
This group also performs as the Hillcrest Wind Ensemble in formal
concerts.
Mile-High Freedom Band, Denver, CO
This inclusive band has performed all over Colorado at Pride and holiday
events.
Flamingo Freedom Band of South Florida, Fort Lauderdale, FL
Many of this band's members performed at the Millennium March on
Washington.
Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual Freedom Trail Band, Boston, MA
This group has tackled an ambitious repertoire, including Holst's "First
Suite," Debussy's "Sarabande," Moussorgsky's "Pictures at an
Exhibition," and selections from "La Cage aux Folles."
Band Together, St. Louis, MO
Three years old and proudly expanding, this group's repertoire includes
everything from classical to jazz and show tunes.
BASSically TREBLEmakers, Rochester, NY
One of the newest groups, they have a decidedly irreverent approach.

Rose City Gay Freedom Band, Portland, OR
This talented bunch performs at concerts and GLBT events around the
Portland area.
Houston Pride Band, Houston, TX
Despite the location, Western themes are only a part of their

Oak Lawn Band, Dallas, TX
A year-round volunteer organization that strives to entertain and serve
the gay and lesbian community and the Dallas area in general. Members
of this group have performed at Clinton inaugurations and pride events.
Rainbow City Band, Seattle, WA
This spunky, growing group of 35 musicians has performed at park events,
Pride marches, and even a "White Trash Prom."
The Milwaukee Pride Band / Rainbow Lightning
While the two-year-old Milwaukee Pride Band isn't the size of the
marching band from "Music Man," it does currently have a roster of
over 30 members.
