Mariah Carey's Misstep

Despite all demands to the contrary, even the biggest of divas can’t be flawless all the time. The record-holding songstress Mariah Carey had a near spill while making her way along the stage at Jay Leno's talk show.

 

The curvy singer slinked out in a tight black dress and usual sky-high heels to promote her new album, fragrance and indie film, Precious. Carey tried to pass off the slip as premeditated, joking to the audience, "You know, when I tripped, I had choreographed that earlier. It was a plan to make Jay nervous that maybe he was going to get sued."

Really, a faulty strap on her stilettos had become unhinged. It would have been disastrous (but hilarious to watch) if Mimi had taken a dive.
