Gay TV on a Wednesday Night: ‘Top Chef’ Where Are They Now?
If you're jonesing for some medical drama, check in to Mercy on NBC at 8 p.m. There are the occasional asides from the witty male nurse Angel, where notably a wonderful gay actor (Guillermo Diaz) is playing an as-yet-underdeveloped gay character. More meaty is Mad Men's Elizabeth Moss's role in tonight's episode. She guest-stars as a young mother suffering form leukemia. She told the New York Daily News, "I got to do some things I normally don't get to do" in this role. "It's heavy material, obviously, and also the treatment she's going through is physically harrowing," she said. "It's hard to talk enthusiastically on such a horrible treatment, but, wow, it was awesome. I get to wear a bald cap and prosthetics that take my eyebrows off."
When the clock strikes 9, you better be in front of your TV for another new episode of Modern Family on ABC. In tonight's episode, "En Garde," we glimpse some insights into the childhood of the tightly wound Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) when he and sister Claire (Julie Bowen) revisit their past as figure-skating partners. The duo skated as "Fire and Nice."
At 10 o'clock all Top Chef-aholics must report to Bravo. Especially if you've ever wondered what happened to gay fave Dale Levitski, meanie Tiffani Faison, champ Harold Dieterle, strong showers Ilan Hall and Casey Thompson, and MORE! The full-course reunion Top Chef All Stars Dinner special will be hosted by fan favorite Fabio Viviani tonight.
Keep one eye on Chelsea Lately tonight at 11 on E! The Playboy cover girl shoots the shiz with Ross Mathews again before her guest, Valerie Bertinelli, takes center stage. After that, The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson is a must-see tonight ! Not only is the shockingly super Mo'Nique on to talk about her incredible indie film Precious, Ferguson will also get couch time with Stephen Fry. The gay Brit is a comic force in his homeland and is known stateside as Dr. Gordon Wyatt on Fox's Bones. Always a witty guest, Fry might touch on the recent ruckus he created online when he threatened to abandon his million Twitter followers. Here's Fry with his comedy partner, Dr. House, Hugh Laurie:
