Gay TV on a Tuesday Night: Gossip Alert!

As temperatures (hopefully) continue to decline, so seemingly do the multitudes of gay-inclusive programming in any given evening lineup. But don't despair. There are several excellent reasons to tune in to the telly tonight and enjoy some quality gay characters and favorites doing what they do best: entertaining us. We've conveniently compiled some suggestions for this Tuesday. Plus: fan fave Ally McBeal is on DVD for the first time.

At 8 p.m. on the persistent CW it may seem like you've fallen into a time warp back to 1997, but it's really just the revamped 90210 and Melrose Place duo. Over in the Beverly Hills zip code, Silver (Jessica Stroup) is surprised to encounter her estranged mother at an AA meeting, but more pressing is the abysmal state of Naomi's wardrobe and the distressing news that her test scores may be too low for admission to C.U. Tragic.

In another luscious Los Angeles location, the wayward souls of the Melrose Place apartments have their own share of troubles at 9 o'clock. Somewhat bisexual publicist Ella (Katie Cassidy) is called in for questioning by the cops after Jane (Josie Bissett) tips them off. Uh-oh -- how will she sleaze her way out of this one?

Then at 10 p.m. Sam and Curtis get down for a battle of the gays on Oxygen's The Naughty Kitchen. Fans’ favorite gays in the kitchen get into the game for the $10,000 prize. Unfortunately, less winning are chef Blythe's new summer menu selections.
Over on Bravo, Flipping Out’s Jeff Lewis is not having an easy season. Tonight's no different, as Ryan continues preparations for his Santa Barbara move. Adding to the stress: Lewis has had it with his current project's contractor but is too far in to fire the dude. Oh, no -- wonder how the über-controlling Jeff will handle that dilemma ...

Fans of the Fox Joss Whedon-created series Dollhouse or its beautiful star, Eliza Dushku, should catch tonight’s Late Show With David Letterman. Dushku will likely talk about all the Alias-like stunts she executes and costumes she dons as secret agent Echo on her show, and maybe some tidbits about her happy romance with Vanessa Fox/Lakers ex Rick Fox. Also, don't miss gay-adored band Gossip (they've dropped the "the") on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to promote the release of their brand-new CD Music for Men.

Bonus: Had to mention a modern TV classic. The Advocate reports: on DVD this Tuesday -- Ally McBeal: The Complete Series. Back when America couldn’t stop talking about Calista Flockhart’s tiny frame ... and people still dreamed in song on network television ... a little show was born that captivated the hearts of single women and gay men alike. Funny how we always seem to bond over the same things. Many a star was born on this show (Lucy Liu, Jane Krakowski, Portia de Rossi plus guest gigs for Taye Diggs and Robert Downey Jr-- heck yes!), and now the entire series is available to enjoy on DVD.

Tell us: What Tuesday shows are you enjoying?
